Freestyle / Disco
Disco Freestyle is a modern dance form which developed from a number of dance films popular during the late 70's & early 80's such as Saturday Night Fever,
Staying Alive, Fame, and Grease. Today it is seen all over the world on stage, in competitions and in clubs.
It includes runs, spins, kicks and leaps, with combinations of different arm and hand gestures. It can be danced solo, in pairs and in groups, and covers
a range of rhythms & styles.
It is a very high-energy form of dance requiring fitness and stamina, and it’s really good fun too! Some youngsters dance it purely for enjoyment and exercise,
while others choose to take it further and enter competitions.
